Rejuvenate Your Skin with Hyperdiluted Radiesse

Rejuvenate Your Skin with Hyperdiluted Radiesse

Aging may bring wisdom but it can also cause unwelcome wrinkles and thin, fragile skin that make you look older than you feel. The good news is there are a number of aesthetic procedures that can help bring back a more youthful appearance, including Hyperdiluted Radiesse®.

Dr. Peter Karlsberg and his physician's assistant Michele Ayans offer a wide range of services to meet all your dermatologic and aesthetic needs at the Ventura Institute for Dermatologic Arts in Ventura and Camarillo, California. From skin cancer treatments to therapies that combine art and science like rejuvenating your appearance with Hyperdilute Radiesse, we can work with you to help you meet your goals.

Skin and aging

Wrinkles are an obvious sign of aging, but they are far from the only one. As we get older, our skin can show more signs of the wear-and-tear it has experienced over the course of decades. It often becomes thin, slack and saggy due to a decrease in the elastin and collagen content of the skin.  Fat loss under the skin can also make it look looser and areas like the cheeks and around the nose and eyes appear sunken. The skin can become more dry, rough, and transparent as well.

Radiesse

Fortunately, help is available to aid in restoring your skin's younger-looking appearance, including improving its smoothness and firmness.

An injectable aesthetic filler, Radiesse uses calcium hydroxylapatite (or CaHA) to accomplish multiple goals. Immediately after treatment its contouring benefits are visible. Over time, it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which increases the skin's elasticity and strength as well as reduces facial lines and wrinkles.  In undiluted form, Radiesse is an excellent filler choice, especially for restoring a more youthful contour to the cheek.  Dr. Karlsberg first reported the use of Radiesse for cheek contouring in The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.

Hyperdiluted Radiesse

Hyperdiluted Radiesse is Radiesse that has been diluted using a combination of lidocaine and a sterile saline solution to make it thinner. The goal of therapy is not to create volume but rather to improve skin quality.  Hyperdiluted Radiesse has an increased ability to spread more easily over a larger area of the body. Dr. Karlsberg uses a microcannula to evenly distribute a thin layer of the product throughout the target area.  Like in its undiluted form, it improves the skin's texture, thickness and elasticity. It can be used in a number of areas including on the mid and lower face, neck, decolletage, hands, and more. Also, it works synergistically with other fillers and with skin tightening procedures such as Thermage and Thermitight.

As with all our procedures, we start with an in-depth consultation where we discuss your aspirations. Next we create a personalized treatment plan to help you reach your goals. This may involve a single type of procedure or a combination of our innovative protocols. The number of treatments will depend on your personal situation.
