Instalift Q & A

What is Silhouette InstaLift™?

InstaLift is an alternative to traditional face-lifts, invasive procedures that come with lengthy, and often painful, recovery periods.

The InstaLift is a fast, effective, minimally invasive way to lift and tighten your skin in virtually any part of your face. As a result, this innovative treatment is effective for people who want to get rid of:

  • Sagging jowls
  • Deep wrinkles
  • Drooping facial skin
  • Deep nasolabial folds
  • Sagging neck skin
  • Forehead wrinkles

Dr. Karlsberg has offered InstaLift to his patients for years and has performed over 100 successful InstaLift treatments, transforming his patients’ appearance without the downtime that comes with a traditional face-lift.

How does InstaLift work?

Before your treatment, you talk with Dr. Karlsberg about the areas you’d like to see lifted and tightened on your face and neck. He personalizes your treatment to address your specific concerns.

Dr. Karlsberg treats the targeted areas by threading the InstaLift thread up through the skin underneath them. He uses local anesthetic during this treatment so you can stay completely comfortable.

This thread is cone-shaped and self-anchoring, which means that once it’s moved into place, it stays there, providing a support structure for your skin. It’s made from polypropylene, the same material used in absorbable surgical sutures.

Over time, your body absorbs the InstaLift thread, but don’t worry. The process of threading through your skin stimulates collagen production. The new network of collagen — the protein that keeps your skin tight — builds as your thread dissolves, maintaining your results.

The entire procedure usually takes 45 minutes or less. What’s more, there is virtually no downtime with this treatment. You might experience some mild tenderness, swelling, or bruising, but this is completely normal and will fade within a week. It shouldn’t keep you from work or any of the activities you love.

Am I a good candidate for InstaLift™?

If you want a way to lift and tighten skin — especially in the middle and lower regions of your face — InstaLift is a highly effective, nonsurgical option. Ideal candidates for this treatment are people who are healthy and don’t smoke.
